Situated beneath Melbourne’s Greenline viaduct, this riverside
library transforms a neglected undercroft into a continuous landscape
of reading, walking, and storytelling. The design follows the
river’s flow, blending architecture and terrain into a
“knowledge loop” that connects commuters, students, and
Wurundjeri storytellers.
Its Fluid form—crafted from GFRC, CLT, and rammed
earth—echoes both motion and memory, embodying reconciliation
with the river and Melbourne’s ethos of “reading
everywhere.”
