14 JŌHIGASHI was conceived as an oasis of tranquility in the backyard
of a residential building, offering a temporary escape from the
hustle and bustle of city life. Inspired by the deep human desire to
connect with nature, the project provides a serene environment in
which to relax and reflect.
The design of 14 JŌHIGASHI draws heavily on the principles of
traditional Japanese garden design, which emphasize simplicity,
asymmetry, and balance between natural elements. The garden features
stones, water features, and carefully manicured plants to create a
space that embodies simplicity and harmony.
